Please check what program is associated on the OS with this type of
application. In case of Linux/KDE it is System Settings > Personalization >
Applications > File Association.

We clearly cannot duplicate the complete list of file association. And just
picking ebook is pointless as the next user might want to change the epub
viewer. The question is whether you want/need to do it in one particular
application rather than globally.

Plus, I'd have security concerns when random application can be started from
LibreOffice.

Putting all together I think we should not add such an option (please reopen if
you disagree and/or with more details).

A related topic is bug 87714 asking for an image editor. However, in this case
the image is not loaded as file.
