I think AutoFilter should be independent of that option (which applies to
comparison operators), selecting an entry it's unexpected it operates as a
"contains" filter, but I don't know why it is coupled nor if and when that was
changed or not nor if there was a reason to do so or which. To find out maybe
request a bibisecting.
