Excel 5.0 format is still in use for data exchange in Hungarian
organizations. I helped to work-around
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=32785 a few months
ago. Please keep old Excel formats for a while. IMHO old Word formats
are obsolete.
