"The repository" being Ubuntu?  Then it might be a distro-specific 
problem.  Trying here with a local LO master build,

   .../setsdkenv_unix
   cd $OO_SDK_HOME/example/java/Text
   make
   make BookmarkInsertion.run

works just fine.
