A regression, very important, introduced somewhere in the 3.6 development
process and then backported to the 3.5 branch. According to my tests, the
backporting was done between the releases of 3.5.5.3 and 3.5.6.2; this is a
fairly limited range of commits which need to be checked.
[I thought that this (3.5) list was more or less closed, but it seems to be
still alive, therefore I add the bug to this (3.5) list, not to the 3.6 list
;-) Correct me if I am wrong ...]</pre>
