Just installed OpenOffice 4.1.1 to check. I have not found such a feature in
*Writer*.
Just to recall the expected use case/behaviour (from my point of view):
New writer doc
Insert -> Image -> From file
The image appear in the doc
Click on the image
-> Image selected
-> Image toolbar appears
Click on a "crop" icon in the Image toolbar.
8 cropping handles appear
I can click on a cropping handle, drag & drop image is cropped accordingly;
cropping mode remains active with visible cropping handles.
I press ESC or outside the image, cropping mode stops.
If later I resize the image, the same part remains cropped.</pre>
