[Libva] Status of libva and mplayer/ffmpeg?

I now did a pristine checkout of mplayer and ffmpeg in exactly the
revisions required, applied all patches (cleanly) and left it that way,
compiled etc.

Still there is NO "-va" option at all. Can someone explain this me? This
page: http://www.splitted-desktop.com/~gbeauchesne/mplayer-vaapi/ says I
need to use -va vaapi.
