hello

i'm forced to write this from a different system and in a browser. the form doesn't seem to allow turning off html. please excuse.

i already got around this problem somehow a week ago but can't help myself today. because dri2 with linux 2.6.34 was about 30% slower than dri1 with linux 2.6.32, i switched back to be able to watch football wm. yesterday i decided to upgrade again. however, no matter what i try, i only get a dstrowstride assertion. i tried with linux 2.6.34 and linux 2.6.35-rc4, both with and without kms, with modules and statically included drivers. the rest is all latest, and i deleted gl and driver stuff before re-installing. i also tried older versions of mesa, xorg-server, and the radeon driver, with kms turned off. without success. all combinations produced a dstrowstride assertion. the only information about this problem i found on internet was that this problem shall be fixed for a month now. any ideas?

many thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience.
