Summary: new Mesa update breaks 3D on Ubuntu 10.10
           Product: Mesa
           Version: git
          Platform: x86 (IA32)
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Mesa core
        AssignedTo: mesa-dev at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: hansioux at hotmail.com

Hi,

I have an older ATi card,

VGA compatible controller : ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300
(PCIE)] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

The 3D support from X11 was working fine since Ubuntu 8.10.

since a week after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10, a new update broke the 3D
support. Now i can't get any kind of 3D going.

My driver is

-Display-
Resolution : 1680x1050 pixels
Vendor : The X.Org Foundation
Version : 1.9.0.901
-Monitors-
Monitor 0 : 1680x1050 pixels

-OpenGL-
Vendor : X.Org R300 Project
Renderer : Gallium 0.4 on RV370
Version : 2.1 Mesa 7.10-devel
Direct Rendering : Yes

I am a mainstream user, and I don't really know if the bug is caused by Mesa,
but I have exhausted my options. I have another computer with a
newer nVidia GPU that had the same problem after an upgrade. It was fixed with
a reinstall and avoiding xorg updates.
