I once tried this on Geforce FX-class hardware with Nvidia proprietary driver
and it failed. This was quite a while ago so I don't remember what the exact
error was. Might have been about too many temporaries. Or maybe the Nvidia
driver was bullshitting me.

The other reason for specifying SM3.0 was that the last driver available for GF
FX did not support ARB_framebuffer_object which is necessary for this game. On
ATI side they were dropping support for old hardware and mesa driver was not
anywhere near ready.

But if you can make Trine run on Shader Model 2.0 HW good for you :)
