I'd say go for it, Matt.

We run some Viewperf tests in house for regression testing, but we don't 
run the Catia-03 tests (3,4,8) which use the NV extensions.

I haven't seen any bug reports from people trying to run Viewperf on 
Mesa drivers either.  I've documented the reasons why Viewperf is broken 
and I don't think we can be expected to work around all the Viewperf 
defects.


I did a quick pass over your patch series and it looks OK to me.
