You can actually get the series from patchwork, then unwind it to local repo with "git am some-series.mbox", then "git push".

E.g. this series is under "download mbox" here https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/22231/ "mbox" is just all patches squashed one after another. Applying it with "git am" preserves commits and messages of the series.
