Sad sad sad :(

EGL provides no mechanism by which the application can request a transparent
window. We need to define an EGL extension for that, tentatively named
EGL_MESA_transparent_alpha.

Without such an extension, Mesa needs to give transparent windows to everyone,
or transparent windows to no one.

The extension is on my todo list, but it's nearer to the bottom than the top of
the list. If you'd like to pick the task up, I can explain how to proceed.
