This is wrong, the bug surely hasn't been fixed. As Furkan says in #18, GPU
acceleration was disabled in the Chromium package (ver 43.0.2357.81) in Ubuntu:

reason being "because GPU crashes (on Intel, Nvidia, and AMD) was the biggest
cause of crash reports in all of Ubuntu"...</pre>
