Hi Alex and Marek,

I had this patch in the 9.1 branch recently, but reverted it at the last
second before making the 9.1.7 release since I noticed it caused a
compilation failure there, ("'SI' undeclared"). I'm sorry I hadn't
noticed that earlier, or I would have asked you for some guidance in
improving this patch to make it suitable for 9.1.

In the meantime, I don't currently plan on making any more 9.1
releases. If we can all just go forward with 9.2.x that would be great.

But if someone does really want to push for a 9.1.8 or later, we could
have another chance to get a fixed version of this patch in.
