A patch for GeForce4 440 Go on iMac G4

This patch is part of a Fedora kernel package created by Ben Skeggs
(http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2594332) which solves the
issue for my GeForce4 440 Go on iMac G4 (both the integrated flat panel and
external VGA are detected and work flawlessly).

You might try to adopt it for your case.
