I just installed 2.6.39 and I am glad to see that the situation has improved a
lot:
- no more X crash,
- no more kernel oops.

But still:
- large images in Firefox do not display but as black (or sometimes white)
rectangles,
- and I get, at the same time, the following error in dmesg.

(repeated a lot)

Please, let me know if this should become a separate bug report or if the hunt
should continue here.
