Just found out that suspend and resume works on vanilla 3.7.9 and 3.8 when
nouveau.noaccel=1 is set.

So it seems the problem with the resume is directly related to the
acceleration..

When hibernating on 3.7.9 the computer reboots automatically, hibernate on 3.8
works, but resuming from hibernation results in a black screen..
