And my fix *did* enable at least one user (with a GeForce 550 Ti IIRC) to get HDMI audio to work fine. (In his situation, sending DTS/AC3 worked fine, but regular PCM audio sent crap, and futzing with those registers fixed it.) It would be worthwhile for you to test out v3.7 and see if it worked. If it did, that means there are further differences.
