        <pre>I assume that somewhere in that list of steps you had to plug the HDMI cable
in? Is it the case, at least on windows, that the PCI device appears and
disappears at the same time that the HDMI cable is plugged/unplugged?

What happens if you boot with the HDMI cable plugged in?</pre>
