ACPI power states test:
- Suspend to RAM aka S3
- Suspend to Disk aka S4
Xfwm4 flavours:
- "vulgaris" - built w/ --disable-epoxy --disable-xpresent
- "xpresent" - built w/ --disable-epoxy
- "glx"
ACPI: S3 S4
Xfwm:
vulgaris + -
xpresent + -
glx + +
Conclusion:
- S3 RESUME, no problemos
- S4 RESUME(THAW), for "vulgaris" and "xpresent",
HW reset or Magic SysRq key sequence required.
Not only display is garbled, but literally nothing you can do with it.
BTW it does not matter whether compositing is on or off.</pre>
