In fact we do since quite a while: it's in the 
OpenOffice_org-impress-extensions package. Saying that installing
the vanilla OOo is the only solution is a bit bold; even more so
since stuff like presenter screen & pdf import would fare much better
when *not* begin artificially crippled to an extension...

...besides, having something like the xpdf-distributing pdf import
being handled via distro-specific security updates is a bonus, not a
shortcoming.
