Of course, I did not want to remove it now. We need it as well to keep the 
backward compatibility. I meant to remove it one day when we would change the 
user configuration dir. Well, we might need to keep it even few years after 
the switch because it might be needed to migrate the user configuration => 
the sooner we disable the v2 writing the better ;-)
