I'd like to blame the tool chain :-) i.e. that exceptions changed
somehow. e.g. something like
http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=38732 is an example of that
happening, but that's fixed since January so I don't think that's at
play here.

Its just as likely of course that the bridge has always been a little
busted and that the new tool chain just exposes that :-)
