Strange. I am not aware about any differences that might cause this.

The messages look very similar to your original mail. Are you sure that you 
applied the localize-ooo.diff on the i686 system as well?

Also the build tree might be somehow messed from the previous build? Could you 
please try a clean build with the localize-ooo.diff applied?
