Got the cable. Highway Robbery pricing at Best Buy, but that's Best Buy for
you... ugh.
*ahem*
More info about the up-till-now, then some test results. Attachments are on
their way as well :)
Up till now I have been using a DVI-to-VGA adapter, exactly like this one -->
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252221518771
I have two of those, and two other different ones that work exactly the same. I
use that, and the first VGA cable my hand finds, and that gets the client to a
screen ;)
With the aforementioned $22 (there ought to be a law!) DVI-D Single Link cable
from Best Buy, I get about the same behavior -- it's fine in text mode,
graphics I get a single nonblinking cursor.
That's with default video.
Modesetting driver is same result, except that the cursor starts blinking when
I get back to text mode.
OpenChrome driver is about to be tested, along with whatever the default driver
is.
I will report back further information as soon as I have it... and there WILL
be logs ;)
