<pre>With regards to VBE, I'm not in a position to discuss its merits either. I was
just mentioning that if the only reason to ditch it is that it doesn't work
well with x86_64, then it could still be useful for x86. If a better
alternative is around, I'm always on for keeping the shiny and ditching the
rusty. Still, as you said, some will have the opposite view.</pre>
