<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;"><div>Hello,</div><div></div><div>I have a PC3500G mainbord with VIA CN896 chipset. Some time ago I managed to get the graphic driver running on Ubuntu 11.10 (which was a pain in the ... as far as I remember).<br/></div><div></div><div>Because of some software issues I had to upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04. Unfortunately it does not properly detect my graphic card. When the graphical user interface boots an error message always pops up telling me a long list of resolutions that did not work. Finally everything is displayed at 1024x768 (and I can choose 800x600). What I need instead is 720p i.e. 1080x720.</div><div></div><div>The xserver-xorg-video-openchrome package is already installed. On Ubuntu 11.10 it worked quite ok (1080p - 1920x1080 - which was then scaled down by my projector and a bit blurry) when I compiled the driver directly from the sources. Unfortunately for compilation there are now some packages missig (e.g. xorg-server) which are no longer in the Ubuntu repositories.</div><div>I hope there is some help somewhere.</div><div></div><div>Regards</div><div>XXLRay</div></div></body></html>
