Hi everyone,

Back at the Libre Graphics Meetings we talked about extending the scope
of such a project to include free/libre/open fonts (free as in
http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/index_html#Fonts). We also thought
it would make a lot of sense to work together with projects like
http://unifont.org/fontguide/

IIRC Jon said he was looking at adding OFL support to cchost.

You need to be aware that extremely few designers will release fonts
under the public domain for artistic integrity reasons. Other licenses
are more appropriate for font design. I think this change of focus is
needed.

I've meant to send more thoughts on this for a while, but didn't find
the time so far.

Dave Crossland has already started a very good thread on the subject.
