[Openfontlibrary] Font File Type and Admins?

Since the OFL is collecting original free-as-in-freedom fonts, I think
its quite reasonable to require the source files.

Um, not all fonts have source files. What if the designer used a visual
tool? The OpenType/Type1/whatever might be all there is.

Fonts are different than software. It is quite possible to have a
completely usable/modifiable/redistributable font (say, a type1+afm)
without any other "source".

Of course, when source files do exist (such as metafont, metatype1,
fontforge, whatever), they should provided for the font to be optimally
free.
