Hi,

I rent a room in Ben's house in Reading and go the down-lo on this,
and there is a small budget for paying someone who can do this.

The 70 or so outlines are in EPS and need cleaning up so they don't do
anything strange when printed at very large (meter plus) sizes - and
FontForge's clean up tool or Raph's python tool ought to help! Then
importing these as glyphs in FontForge, and do some spacing.

All straighforward stuff. The option of publishing the resulting file
on the Open Font Library is available, subject to negotiation with the
client.

Ben originally mailed this to the ATypI mailing list and they mostly
turned their nose up at it for some reason I can't fathom.

Hi,

I've been asked to find someone who can put together a typeface made
from existing Illustrator vector artwork. It's 'hand-drawn':
basically very rough letters done with a mouse directly into
Illustrator. I can't vouch for the quality of those outlines. There
are only uppercase Roman characters; I doubt any accents. There will
be alternate forms of characters (I guess in the lower-case character
positions).

I'd do it myself if I had the time. Is there anyone on this list who
is interested? The rights in the typeface thus created will belong to
the commissioning organisation. The deadline is the end of the week.
Deafening silence anticipated...

Best wishes,
Ben
