Hi Jon et al,

I don’t see spam now on the wiki.
It does have stability issues.

Which also can be fixed—so I would only port it if it you could do something new and awesome with like, say, make it distributed… git-based wikis ftw :)

Anyhow
I ran into this error last week, after which I was unable to edit pages:

Warning: require() [function.require]: Unable to allocate memory for pool. in /var/www/openfontlibrary.org/htdocs/wiki/includes/AutoLoader.php on line 582

When trying to access the site via the API, I get a more specific error message:

<b>Fatal error</b>: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 10485741 bytes) in <b>/var/www/openfontlibrary.org/htdocs/wiki/includes/api/ApiFormatJson.php</b> on line <b>68</b>

20MB is the default memory limit for PHP, someone with SSH should define a higher limit it in the PHP.ini?

see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Errors_and_symptoms#Fatal_error:_Allowed_memory_size_of_nnnnnnn_bytes_exhausted_.28tried_to_allocate_nnnnnnnn_bytes.29

ps
the limit is for the wiki and the ccHost site together no? than it also makes sense that sometimes the wiki is unstable only sometimes—when there’s more traffic to the oflb itself

…

cheers,
