One main user base for free fonts is designers and developers creating web, blog and cms 'themes' for mass usage. It's an 'industry' that relies on free webfonts. It also needs as many different fonts as possible. Packages for linux distros by all means, but also why not get in where the big action is too :) </tuppence><div><br></div><div>-vern</div><div><br></div><div><br><div><div>On 11 Jul 2012, at 04:00, Nathan Willis wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite">It might be ambitious for 0.6, but I'd like to at least throw out there that a future release could create installable packages. Starting with RPMs and .Debs since, let's face it, Linux users are the most tuned in to open fonts. <br>
<br>Not necessarily automatically from raw OTF/TTFs, but at least letting librarians build them with a recipe. I think something like OBS could do the actual builds. That would allow OFLB to function as an "upstream" project to a lot of distributions that currently aren't packaging much. <br>
