Dunno, I like the old progress dialog much better, so maybe something
like the following:

And then  the "Update Details" button would bring you to a list of all
the steps of the transaction, like you currently have. The "Restart"
text and button would  only appear if a restart is recommended.

All text and icons are of course totally provisional and made up on
the spot, but you get the idea...
