Take a look at http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~brejc8/temp/olpc_plymouth.tar.gz
and see if that is along the right lines.

The rotated arrow may look to have slightly jagged edges as it revolves, but I 
have fixed that by interpolating the pixels in the library so it should be 
smooth soon.
