When  opening this file:
http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/render_download.php?site_id=nrsi&format=file&media_id=xetex_bachotex2006_paper&filename=kew-bachotex-paper.pdf,
both backends crash.

Here is the error message:

Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Even if poppler cannot find the fonts not embedded in a document, it should not
crash when opening.
