Humm... this is getting really strange. I've just compiled poppler (git head)
on my machine, and it also looks fine. Depending on which library I load (using
 LD_LIBRARY_PATH) pdftoppm produces the correct result or not, so it's
_definitely_ happening in libpoppler, but I don't understand when...
