Here is the command line error messages I get with evince and epdfview.

Error: Internal: called getRawChars() on non-predictor stream
Error: PDF file is damaged - attempting to reconstruct xref table...
Error: Couldn't find trailer dictionary
Error: Couldn't read xref table
