Please see Figure 3 and Figure 5 in [1]. The columns in the chart are not
visible or not colorful in evince v3.4, but are visible in acroread.
I checked it with poppler-glib master (ae8fc0cbf) and seems to be a problem
in poppler (maybe cairo).
This bug could also be related to

are gradients on
