If a) is the case, couldn't we commit the patch and solve this bug later? Nobody uses in the moment parallel rendering, and if we don't commit the patch today we have (according to Your time schedule) to wait at least until next year. And if You then again start to have a look at it just four days before we froze it again we probably never can get it in...
