NEVER use the gs operator - then the fact that you have an ExtGState is
irrelevant. It is NOT used.<br><br>

may be seeing, assuming you are using Acrobat Reader to view, is that
Acrobat uses different techniques to render 100% opaque pages vs. those
with some transparency. So things like anti-aliasing and such will
change and may appear different to you. But it isn'.<br><br>
