the tarball creation should include pregenerated manpages in the tarball, so
that build dependencies for xmlto (and it's dependendency for building them,
lynx, links, w3m or java's fop) can be avoided on a users system
we, in gentoo, for example, install links with a .desktop file that has
x-scheme-handler/http; and if links is built with SSL support, also
x-scheme-handler/https;
and now when user installs xdg-utils, it first pulls in xmlto, then it pulls in
as first option links, and then the mimeinfo.cache is updated and if user
hasn't selected himself a default browser, links takes correctly over
it's only a build time dependency, so problem can be rectified either by
uninstalling links after emerging xdg-utils, or selecting default browser,
but it's still an annoyance
so, please, make 'make distcheck' or whatever you use to create the tarball,
create the refreshed manpages, and include them in the tarball
