           Summary: xdg-mime/xdg-icon-resource fail to associate a mime type
                    with an icon in Gnome
           Product: Portland
           Version: beta2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: xdg-utils
        AssignedTo: portland at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: tom.whipple at intel.com

The xdg-utils fail to associate icons with mime types in Gnome. (SUSE 10.0/Gnome
2.12.0) It works in KDE.

$ xdg-icon-resource install --size 32 icons/red-32.png xdgtestdata-icontest.png
$ xdg-mime install --novendor xdg-utils-usecases/data/icon_file.xml
$ echo 'bar' >foo.xdgtest
$ xdg-mime query filetype foo.xdgtest
xdgtestdata/icontest

Yet when foo.xdgtest is viewed in nautulus, we only see a generic icon.
Interestingly, when we select "view as icon" a preview icon with the file text
"bar" is shown.
