It's always when asking that answers come :).

According to http://portland.freedesktop.org/xdg-utils-1.0/xdg-desktop-menu.html,
it's using Categories= in my .directory file that keywords will attempt
to match a sub-menu of the menu system. Clear enough! I can try
with Programming;Development.
