This is particularly useful if there are more than one RTP streams on the network. What this should mean is that no work gets done with regards to that stream, which, again, probably matter most for the RTP receive module, but also means that a user setting the volume on a 'disabled' stream to something other than 100% shouldn't burn cycles doing nothing. If directing to a null sink happens to be functionally equivalent, then perhaps all that's needed is a null sink included in the default configuration. -- Ticket URL: PulseAudio The PulseAudio Sound Server From trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de Sun Jul 8 10:31:26 2007 From: trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de (PulseAudio) Date: Sun, 08 Jul 2007 17:31:26 -0000 Subject: [pulseaudio-tickets] [PulseAudio] #101: utils/padsp.c:2392: error: redefinition of 'stat' & 'stat64' Message-ID: <041.fa913b3ac602ad453b92e8f6f2ea71ab@tango.0pointer.de> #101: utils/padsp.c:2392: error: redefinition of 'stat' & 'stat64' ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Reporter: elmarco | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: clients | Severity: normal Keywords: | ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ utils/padsp.c:2392: error: redefinition of 'stat' /usr/lib/gcc-snapshot/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.3.0/include- fixed/sys/stat.h:489: error: previous definition of 'stat' was here utils/padsp.c:2454: error: redefinition of 'stat64' /usr/lib/gcc-snapshot/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.3.0/include- fixed/sys/stat.h:556: error: previous definition of 'stat64' was here make[3]: *** [libpulsedsp_la-padsp.lo] Error 1 -- Ticket URL: PulseAudio The PulseAudio Sound Server From trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de Sun Jul 8 10:32:32 2007 From: trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de (PulseAudio) Date: Sun, 08 Jul 2007 17:32:32 -0000 Subject: [pulseaudio-tickets] [PulseAudio] #101: utils/padsp.c:2392: error: redefinition of 'stat' & 'stat64' In-Reply-To: <041.fa913b3ac602ad453b92e8f6f2ea71ab@tango.0pointer.de> References: <041.fa913b3ac602ad453b92e8f6f2ea71ab@tango.0pointer.de> Message-ID: <050.a01fc95809ca1257c5cc0b12d2477360@tango.0pointer.de> #101: utils/padsp.c:2392: error: redefinition of 'stat' & 'stat64' ----------------------+----------------------------------------------------- Reporter: elmarco | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: clients | Severity: normal Resolution: | Keywords: ----------------------+----------------------------------------------------- Changes (by elmarco): * cc: hwinkel at gmail.com, mrovner at hotmail.com, trac at justin.meagerman.net, dpeterson at enthought.com, bruno at inertiacreeps.net, shishz at hotpop.com, alecclews at gmail.com, jorvis at gmail.com, jkletsky at feedster.com, peter.merel at globalx.com.au, Andreas.Podgurski at Gmx.de, nick+trac at ekenosen.net, gerz at fgan.de, daved at dis-corp.com, zoogie at lugatgt.org, josh.moore at gmx.de, dlawson at masterytech.com, mark81 at gmail.com, carwyn at carwyn.com, trac.tickets at roblight.com, tobias.roeser at iba-cg.de, erikand at swip.net (removed) Comment: hmm, weird CC, sorry. -- Ticket URL: PulseAudio The PulseAudio Sound Server From trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de Sun Jul 8 11:59:24 2007 From: trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de (PulseAudio) Date: Sun, 08 Jul 2007 18:59:24 -0000 Subject: [pulseaudio-tickets] [PulseAudio] #91: The jack modules aren't real-time safe. However, according to FHS only temporary, run- time data should be stored under /var/run. Data in /var/run can be deleted between system boots, so persistent data that should be maintained between boots should go under /var/lib or possibly /var/state by default. In pulseaudio's case, GConf data and the volume-restore.table file, as well as any other persistent-state files, should be moved under /var/lib/pulse or a similar directory, with all runtime files remaining under /var/run/pulse. Ideally, GConf's lock files would go under /var/run/pulse and its data store would live in /var/lib/pulse, but i'm not sure this is possible with GConf's design. Looking at the code, it seems the solution would be to split PA_SYSTEM_RUNTIME_PATH into two different variables, one for temporary/runtime and one for persistent data. -- Ticket URL: PulseAudio The PulseAudio Sound Server From trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de Wed Jul 18 16:13:57 2007 From: trac-noreply at tango.0pointer.de (PulseAudio) Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2007 23:13:57 -0000 Subject: [pulseaudio-tickets] [PulseAudio] #107: suggestion optimization: libevent Message-ID: <040.7796bcb57bb0f481b6a3364b47adcce2@tango.0pointer.de> #107: suggestion optimization: libevent -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- Reporter: Lennie | Owner: lennart Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: daemon | Severity: normal Keywords: performance | -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- It seems PulseAudio uses a lot of CPU, more then 2 times as much as 4 mplayers together playing mp3/ogg streams. There seems to be some kind of synchronization issue between the display state of the panel applet and the real state in pulse. This may be related to suspend/resume. I'll watch it more closely and see if I can notice when it gets out of sync. If I exit the panel applet and start a new one, the correct state is displayed. -- Ticket URL: PulseAudio The PulseAudio Sound Server
