Comment:

 The default resampler is speex-float-3. Which is considerably faster than
 libsamplerate. Also, the speex resampler is BSD, while libsamplerate is
 GPL. However PA itself is only LGPL. The libsamplerate resampler is thus
 nowadays only an optional dependency to make sure that people who don't
 need it and need the code under LGPL can simply disable it.

 Since PA 0.9.7 you can set "default-sample-rate=" in daemon.conf.
