It seems that padsp will only emulate /dev/dsp and not /dev/dsp1,
 /dev/dsp2, etc.

It would be nice to be able to support different outputs from (broken)
applications like Skype where I would like to have ringing to use one
device (speakers) and conversations to be on a different device (headset).

Using the OSS version of Skype, it allows for choosing different (OSS)
devices for the different functions (Sound In, Sound Out, and Ringing),
but only /dev/dsp is redirected to PulseAudio using padsp.
