 If I change the volume in gnome-volume-properties or pavucontrol I hear
 high frequency noise.

 I have a little video which demonstrates the problem.
 The video isn't perfect, because it has some other noise but this is about
 the high frequency noise/crackling, that I hear through my speakers.

 I have also noticed, if I change the profile to, for example, Analog
 Stereo Duplex, the mixer elements in alsamixer don't change.
 The result is that I still hear sound on all 6 speakers.
