#660: Headphone channel problems with TC1100

I have a TC1100 and running latest Karmic development snapshot. The sound
card in this laptop has an unusual configuration: the Master channel
controls the sound level of external speakers only, while the Headphone
channel controls the sound level of headphone jack only. However,
PulseAudio assumes that the Headphone channel is always "multiplied" by
Master. This causes the headphone sound level to jump from 0 to 100% in
the first 20% or so of the Gnome volume slider, which is useless... Is
there a way to convince PulseAudio to always set the same value to Master
 and Headphone?
