 Did what you said. Though recently I gave up on Ubuntu and went back to
 XP. I found a spare
 hard drive, loaded Ubuntu studio 32 on it, loaded everything needed to re-
 create problem. Sure
 enough, the problem showed up in no time at all. I would go to Ubuntu in a
 heartbeat except
 for this problem.

 OK, so it mentions something about alsa, now what? And why am I the only
 one having this
 issue? Or am I?  I can say that different sound cards and video cards make
 no difference,
 though I only tried a few that I have.
